Welcome

Hi and welcome to the first entry for my blog. Older is the New Black has come about because I am finding that as a women in my 40's, fewer fashion and makeup tips are becoming relevant to me. It seems that once you hit your mid to late 30's and 40's you become somewhat lost. You feel too young to be shopping at Noni B ( you should actually never shop at Noni B) but dressing from Sportsgirl can leave you feeling desperate.
Obviously the trick to this age I feel is to strike the compromise somewhere between Mutton dressed as lamb, and the 40 year old in white pedal pushers which you should never, I repeat NEVER be seen in.
I will be passing on some hair and make up tips, as long as some fab fashion advice.
Enjoy.
A weekend No. This just makes you look old. Ditch the glittery nails (if you must- only one nail) The white pants say boring, the top is unflattering, neck bling yucky and the backpack...is a backpack.
This on the other hand says Yes. A very basic white t (cheap is ok, but seeing as it is an investment piece I would consider a quality item like Bassikke, but Bonds is ok, A nice casual pattern loose fitting pant adds a splash of colour, basic leather things and a nice neutral nail.

Both these outfits cost roughly the same- but one looks way cheaper.
