The 90's called- they want their clothes back.

It has been happening for a while, but it is official. 90's fashion is back.
I'm not sure how I feel about this, but it does make shopping interesting, because I have seen it (and worn it) all before.

So if you want to be part of this revival here we go.

1. Overalls. I wore overalls in the 90's. I was pregnant. Enough said.

This does look cute, and if you feel the need for some Sportsgirl have some Sportsgirl Overalls and The Iconic have some cutie shortie ones (Click the links if you feel the need for some on line shopping)

2. Chokers. Really?

If you want to dip your toes in the choker trend, pop on over to asos -Chokers @ asos

3.Slip dresses. I am a bit happy with this, but be warned they do look a bit like a nighty if you are not careful. Although this does mean that your nighty could double as your outfit which means going to bed after a big night out very easy.

No one did a slip dress like Kate Moss- If you are going to wear one, maybe don't do see through.
Sportsgirl have a few good ones here

This is a dress from Sportsgirl- $100.
This is a $70 nightie  from Peter Alexander you can see how easy it is to confuse the two.

4.Backpacks. In true 2014 style I guess you need to double strap. Single strapping is soooo 1990. ( This is a 21 Jump Street reference. the 2011 movie, not the 90's tv show)

Unless you are backpacking Chanel, If you are going to spend over 2 grand on a backpack you can wear it any damn way you want.

Or Louis. This is some serious shades of awesome.

4. Jelly Shoes, platforms and Doc Martins. My daughter wore jelly shoes in the 90's. She was 4.

These are $20 from asos- and at Rubi shoes you can get one pair for $14.95 or 2 for $20.

I have these grown up Jelly Shoes. They are from Holster. I got mine at the Shoe Show shop, but here is the link to the website. They have some very cute colours and styles.Click here for Holster

5.Bucket Hats- to be honest I never really knew they counted as fashion, but they are making appearances at festivals- so fashion they are.

6. Baggy Slogan tees. I am calling this one, because as I remember it baggy slogan tees where 80's. Choose Life and Go-Go anyone???

80's baggy slogan tee

                                2014 baggy slogan tee

7.Crop tops. Not to be worn by anyone over 30 or anyone who has had children.

Kate really was the poster girl of 90's fashion

8.Grunge- the definition of 2014 grunge is tying you jumper around your waist and wearing a flannelette shirt and some tartan pattern.

If you look closely she is rocking the overerall, the tartan shirt around the waist AND a bucket hat

Grunge true 90's style- Dr Martins, tarten flanno and an ugly doona cover.

If you want to try any of these looks, I would suggest you go to shops that specialise in " disposable fashion". By that I mean stuff that is on the cheaper side of the spectrum that has a big turn over. This is not investment shopping, so don't go too expensive.

Dotti are bang on click here to look as are Sportsgirl and don't forget Topshop- they will ship to Australia for us poor people who live in Perth.

Happy 90's people. I will leave you with an example of why some things should stay in the 90's. Just ask Danni Minogue

Poor Danni- somethings will just never go away- even reminders of ex husbands.

Anything that is in purple is a link - so give it a click if you want to shop!
